The Hub App Reviews
Awesome helper tool
My only wish it had more configuration options. Still, really, really useful.
Cannot login
Application will not allow you to login to github, you get the auth key but the app never changes state
The menu bar icon is a convenient place to see your Github notifications and activity feed. At least since the most recent update, it runs reliably with no login errors or failures that I’ve noticed. However, this app is just a wrapper for a web view. I’d love it if it was Free software. After paying $1.99 I’m picky about the memory footprint.
The app opens, and I’ve authenticated my account just fine. However, the activity section doesn’t show anything for my account. I have several private repositories that have been updated through the day, and viewing the activity on Github shows it all, but the app doesn’t. I don’t see any of my github notifications in it, either. Tried loggin off and on, quiting, redownloading… Nada. After a few days, nothing is showing up.
How about an update? I keep receiving the same notification even after dismissing it. This is a problem. Other than that it seems to work okay, it’s easier for me to receive notifications on my desktop rather than email, nobody wants that bleh.
I have not had an issue like some people have mentioned with activity or notifications not showing up. It works great and has improved my response time as well as keeping my email clean by allowing me to turn of email notifications. I only wish that the UI was a little nicer. Edit: After using it for a while I have to give it a 3. Gets you your notifications but seems to have many issues like notifications that you have clicked accept for keep coming back as well as the number in the menu bar looking funny since it’s half hidden.
